Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

The SSPR service enables you to reassign youre password independently if you lost or forgot it. First you must register once with the service. To register, you need the current login data of your account and a private e-mail address. The e-mail address must understandably not belong to the account for which you register the service, since the one-time password is sent to this e-mail address, with the help of which you can reset your regular password.

To register with the SSPR, proceed as follows.

1. Log in to the site https://sspr.zimt.uni-siegen.dewith the account for which you want to register the service. If you get an error message try opening the site in a private browser window

2. after successful registration, enter your private e-mail address and confirm.

3. with the enforcement notification, you have successfully registered your account for the SSPR service.

From now on, you can use the "Forgot Password" link to change your password if you have forgotten it. If you want to change your specified private e-mail address, you have to go through this process again.

Reset your Password

1. The "Forgot password" link will take you to the next site where you can enter your user name.

2. We will then send you a signed e-mail to the stored e-mail address with the one-time password. The sender is onetimepassword@uni-siegen.de. You must enter this one-time password on the next page.

3. Then you can assign a new password.

 

Attention

If your account has been disabled due to spam or virus transmission and you had to set a new password, we will also delete the e-mail address for security reasons. Then you need to register again to use the service.
